With each new year, in the world of garage doors, we see evolving trends and ideas, that inspire us. This blog outlines the latest trends over the past 3 months and, what we expect to continue seeing, as the year progresses. Have questions about how to make your garage door trendy in 2017? Contact us today for a free quote.

1)    Add a POP of COLOUR!

While white, black and beige and grey are the colours typically seen on garage doors, 2017 is moving towards bolder and brighter colours, as homeowners are starting to think more about curb appeal and overall look of their home. Adding colour to your garage door will give it a unique look and differentiate it from your neighbour’s door. A brighter garage door creates a  welcoming feel and makes lasting impression. Remember that choosing a garage door colour can sometimes be difficult, so, take your time!

2)    Go BIG or go HOME

Large garage doors are trending for 2017.  We are noticing that when homeowners begin renovating or building their homes, they are opting for bigger garage doors. Larger garage doors make a statement and allow room for the addition of windows, which enhance the look. As a bonus for those who enjoy using their garages for activities and hobbies, windows let in more daylight and create a warmer space. It’s important to note that windows also augment curb appeal. The larger the door, the more windows you can add,  and the more, the merrier, when it comes to windows!

3)    Add new/different materials

For a modern twist, try adding new materials to your garage door. Recently, for example, glass inserts have become popular. There are a variety of styles and types of glass to choose from, to make your garage door more beautiful. If privacy is a concern, opt for frosted glass, a great way to upgrade your garage door, while still allowing natural light in. Etched glass is another way to go, for a unique flare. Whatever your taste, the possibilities are endless!
